POSITION SUMMARY
The Marketing and Events Coordinator is an essential part of Inspiration Corporation’s development and external relations team. This position is responsible for marketing to a variety of external audiences and inspiring their engagement with and support of Inspiration Corporation. The Marketing and Events Coordinator will help steward the organization’s fundraising and community events, spearhead marketing and communications efforts for the organization- including social media- and support volunteer and in-kind activities. All functions geared toward engaging the broader community in the organization’s mission and impact.

We are seeking a passionate, entrepreneurial, detail-oriented, and strategic team member who can effectively communicate with and engage the community to advance the organization’s goals. Successful candidates will have a strong track record in project management and excellent written and verbal communication skills. A background in social media management, graphic design (including tools like Adobe Suite and Canva) and event planning are preferred. Must possess the ability to work independently and proactively.

GENERAL

  • Communicate with donors by phone, e-mail or in person to explain Inspiration Corporation and its work and solicit or accept donations on behalf of the organization.
  • Represent Inspiration Corporation at other events, including staffing tables, public speaking, etc.
  • Provide assistance as needed for other fundraising and marketing activities, including events.
  • Attend regularly scheduled All-Staff meetings. Plan and participate in regularly scheduled departmental meetings.
  • Work with all departments as appropriate to ensure that the needs of the agency’s participants are addressed. Collaborate across teams and staff committees and attend meetings to enlist support when needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned:

EVENT MANAGEMENT

  • Play a key role in the planning and execution of Inspiration Corporation’s largest annual fundraising gala, One Inspired Evening, including management of the host committee; development of event marketing materials; oversight of ticket sales, art and auction solicitations; coordination of vendor selection and relationships; and day-of event execution.
  • Manage expenses and maintain accurate, timely, and accessible documentation for all events.
  • Identify opportunities for other fundraising and outreach events and work with the staff across the organization and volunteers to plan and execute additional events.
  • Act as point of contact for third-party groups hosting fundraising events for Inspiration Corporation. Ensure alignment with agency mission, values, and operational capacity.
  • Plan and promote other organizational events that build community among participants, neighbors, and partners. Collaborate with program staff and/or partner organizations on events that align with agency mission, values and operational capacity.

MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS
  • Create a compelling and engaging online presence for Inspiration Corporation and Inspiration Kitchens, including creating and scheduling social media posts and managing/monitoring social media and websites. This includes engaging with comments and messages and reposting relevant information from partners and supporters to optimize the reach of Inspiration Corporation’s channels.
  • Develop and create content and promotional materials for a variety of purposes and for a variety of audiences, inclusive of e-newsletters, decks, annual reports, signage, swag and other items as needed.
  • Help coordinate essential communications throughout the year, including printed newsletters, e-newsletters, and donor appeals.
  • Lead monthly marketing meetings with Inspiration Kitchens teams, including agenda-setting and task follow-up.
  • Support efforts to recruit volunteers and promote volunteer opportunities.
  • Support efforts to secure in-kind donations for events and other programs.
  • Ensure visual brand guidelines are up to date and support staff in adherence. Develop and design collateral materials for internal and external audiences as requested and required.
  • Identify and manage relationships with vendors, such as marketing consultants, designers, mail houses and printers.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university preferred; Computer skills essential. Strong writing skills required. One or more years of work experience or equivalent academic experience strongly preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret written materials. Must be able to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must be able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY: Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. Role may involve occasional lifting of up to 25lbs in relation to execution of events.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Maintains standard office hours. This is a hybrid role; 2-3 days per week in-office are required. Attends evening, weekend, and early morning meetings and functions as required.
